The Winchester Mystery House is a maze of eccentricity with twisting halls, doors that open to walls, and interior windows that open to stairs. A medium told Widow Winchester she was haunted by spirits of those who lost their lives to the Winchester rifle. The spirits told her she must build this house, and as long as the construction continued, her life would not be in danger.

Looking back at our exchange as we head in from another long day in one of the most spectacular cities in the world.
As we were flying by on a helicopter tour of New York's harbour these buildings caught my I so I quickly snapped this shot. The varying textures, colours, and periods of these buildings struck me. I found it interesting that they were so near to each other as different as they are, contrast and enhance each others personality, bring interest to the imagination, and remain timelessly symbolic....I suppose a bit like their inhabitants!
